Looking to hold a Geocaching event in the Midlands - We can help.Written by KathrineWhy not hold your event at Peak Gateway Leisure Club. It is a luxurious campsite situated just outside Ashbourne in Derbyshire and features great facilities. Here are six great reaosns to hold your event here: 1. Discounted camping rates for groups of Geocachers can be arrianged as the site owner is very Geocaching friendly. 2. The site has two Bars - The Outside Inn which is a cosy bar with leather sofas and games facilities (pool, darts etc) and the Blenheim Room which is a function room that can seat upto 200 people with a disco and overhead projector for films etc.
3. Bubbles Bar for the kids, this is an arcade and rest area for kids to hang out.
4. Safe play park for the under tens, this is just outside the Outside Inn bar and is under CCTV surveilance for safety and security.
5. Catering is provided onsite, this can be tailored to your events needs and it is very reasonably priced. 6. Lastly it has a walk in Geocaching shop - Us :-) Basically it has all of the ingredients for a great evening or weekend. Give us a call to discuss your requirements. We have presented our first cheque to Help for Heroes - £1,060We'd like to thank everyione who has helped us raise over £1,060 so far for Help for Heroes. We have managed to raise this amazing amount through sales of the Help for Heroes geocoin and with the help of geocachers who opted to round their orders up to the nearest whole pound. You can see exactly how much money we have raised so far on our penny-o-meter. We are still continuing to raise more with our target being £2,000.

We are now set up in Ashbourne, DerbyshireAfter our epic move (OK so it wasn't that epic but it was a pain moving house and business at the same time) we are in and settled. We still have some things to do yet but our plans are still on track. Thank you to everyone who has visited us so far it was really nice to meet you all and put some faces to geocaching usernames. We hope to see you again soon. UpdateOK, so what have we done and where are we going? Well, we have finished our move and are consolodating things now. Our front door is very much open to everyone and anyone passing, pop in for a chat and to get your hands on the things you see on our site. Whilst we are still very much mail order orientated our front office is starting to look the part and we plan to have our faster moving items out on display for you to see. Being self employed and a mother of two I can only be here usually 10am until 3pm Mon-Fri, 10am - 1pm Sat. If you plan on visiting its best to ring to check I'm here or to let me know what time you are coming to make sure I'll be here when you get here. If you need anything in a hurry over the weekend just drop me an e-mail and I can open up for you if as I live locally. Walk in shop opening times
What does the future hold?Well we have our fingers in quite a few pies at the moment. Broadband is on its way in a few weeks time and at that point we will have a dedicated PC available for passing cachers to update their logs and finds whilst in the area - ideal if you are camping locally or on the campsite we are on. You will also be able to print cache pages out to continue on your way.
In essence we have big plans afoot and would appreciate any feedback or ideas you have on how we can help local cachers. Kathy

You can create or edit your own UK County Map through your account on our site, just click on the UK Counties Map link on the 'Your Account' drop down menu list shown at the top of the page.

We are now hosting free weather information from The Weather Channel, so you can now get a customised weather forecast for your area. You can customise it to show your area and the site will remember your settings through the use of a cookie so that everytime you return here you can grab a quick 5 day forecast. It's also usefull if you are travelling outside your usual haunts or abroad as it contains global forecast information. We hope that you find it usefull.

The map files offered here are compiled from the mapping data at OpenStreetMap.
